The challenge

The funding landscape is fragmented. IDEA joins forces to bring that landscape efficiently to cities, municipalities, care and welfare institutions. Because they are pre-eminently social actors who can use just that little push in their translation of future-oriented ideas into decisive projects.

The process & results

IDEA Consult’s grants team joined forces with Vanden Broele. The result was an online tool for governments and organisations to search for and track grants. The “Subsidiemanager” tool consists of two elements:

1. The ‘search and find module’ provides an up-to-date overview of relevant grants per client group and includes all relevant grants from all government agencies at European, national and provincial level. All private initiatives at national level, such as De Nationale Loterij (The National Lottery), are also included. Subsidiemanager customers can easily browse this list of grants by theme, administrative tier or relevant keywords. The grants have been carefully selected by IDEA Consult’s grant experts in close cooperation with theme experts and specialists at Vanden Broele.
2. The ‘project management module’ easily supports governments and organisations to follow up on application progress or financial follow-up on approved applications. The tool makes it possible to assign responsibilities and/or tasks to employees within the same organisation and efficiently streamline all aspects of grant applications and follow-up. 

In the process, IDEA Consult takes the organisations that join further in tow. After successful first years in which more than 80 Flemish municipalities found their way to the ‘Subsiediemanager’, the tool has been extended to Flemish welfare and health organisations. Other sectors and (geographical) areas are being studied.
