Federico Bley started working at IDEA Consult in November 2019 as Consultant in the Innovation, Competitiveness and Sustainability (ICS) team.

Federico studied Economics, International Trade as well as Society, Science and Technology in Universities in Belgium, the Netherlands and Denmark. He wrote theses on alternatives to single-use plastics and technological capabilities in developing countries and contributed to various reports such as a country analysis of South Korea for the Belgian Foreign Trade Agency and case studies in the context of his International Trade studies on the aviation market in Chile and other sector-specific projects. His main research interests revolve around the adoption of novel technologies and how they shape societies.

Prior to joining IDEA, Federico worked for the European umbrella federation for the European Leasing and Consumer Credit Industries Leaseurope and Eurofinas as Advisor in Statistics and Economic affairs, conducting market analysis and contributing to amendments to policy proposals by the European Commission.
