Astrid Vliebergh

Astrid Vliebergh is a senior consultant. She has more than twenty years of experience in EU project and programme management and has held various management positions in government and North Sea Port. She is a connector between the public and private sectors and is passionate about economic issues, regional policy and international relations.
Thanks to her experience in the port, her role within Smart Delta Resources Flanders – the network of energy-intensive industries in the Ghent Canal Zone – and as director of economics at the Province of East Flanders, she is familiar with a wide range of economic policy issues, ranging from spatial economics to (cross-border) labour markets, investment matters and the sustainability of industry.
She has held various positions within EU regional policy: as project promoter, project partner, project officer and member of advisory committees, monitoring and steering committees for, among others, EFRO Vlaanderen and INTERREG programmes.
She combines business development, strategy determination and implementation with general project management and has worked closely with knowledge institutions, sector organisations and companies.
In addition to project management, she also brings a broad network in the fields of economics, regional policy and international trade relations. With her coordination and communication skills, she feels most at home in complex (international) project environments.
