Lode Van Der Schueren, a subsidy consultant in the Regions & Local Governance team at IDEA Consult, has a background in Public Administration and Public Management and recently added an educational chapter.

He put his education into practice by working for four years at the City of Ghent as an employee of the externally corporatised agency PuurGent. There, he carried a high priority to, among other things, merchant participation and project management. Lode built further on this expertise within the ERDF project ‘Onderneem Er Op Uit’ at the East Flanders provincial government. As a shared civil servant, he and the team supported local authorities with their economy policy.

Before his transfer to IDEA Consult, he finalised the thematic path Lifelong Learning within the Origin Fund at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Ghent University. The development of the academy with a focus on governance and the creation of the training offer were his core tasks there.

Lode strives to make valuable contributions to organisations and boards, using his knowledge and experience in economics and public administration. Within IDEA Consult, he focuses on the ‘Subsidiemanager’ and accompanying guidance.
