Sarah De Boeck joined the department of “Real estate and territorial development” of IDEA Consult as senior expert and team leader in February 2023. She has over 15 years of academic and management experience and combines a background in the non-profit sector with expertise in the field of territorial development. She holds a doctorate in the interdisciplinary sciences of urban planning, economic geography & urban economic development (Vrije Universiteit Brussel, 2020), and a master of arts in Theatre Science (Universiteit van Amsterdam, 2004).

As the former vice-president of the Regional Development Commission, Sarah was involved in the qualitative evaluation of regional territorial and planning policy, commissioned by the Brussels Government. In her role as director of the Territorial Knowledge department of perspective.brussels, she took the lead over territorial research and analyses and the rolling out of a collective data infrastructure at the Brussels regional planning administration. As the regional manager of a socio-cultural non-profit organization, Sarah guided organizations in complex intercultural partnerships and participatory trajectories.
