Kristof Mertens is senior Expert in the field of “Competitiveness and Innovation”. He has extensive experience in gathering, processing and analysing economic information for various industrial and service sectors. He has also designed different sets of indicators and monitoring instruments. And finally, Kristof is a specialist in administrative cost reduction (measurement) and regulations management.

Kristof completed his studies in Applied Economics in 1999 specialising in Business Economy at the K.U. Leuven. After his studies, he worked in the same faculty as a teaching and research assistant. He then acquired sectoral experience in several Belgian and Dutch distribution sectors with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. Kristof has been working at IDEA Consult since 2004.
