In 2022, Jan joined the Real Estate and Territorial Development team at Idea Consult.  He holds a degree in Architecture, Spatial Planning and Urbanism. For many years Jan worked as an urbanist, spatial planner and researcher for the Flemish department of Environment and Spatial Development.  He specialises in regional research by design, spatial-economic policy, planning processes for individual companies and cross border cooperation between Flanders and Brussels.  Until 2020, he was project leader for the Territorial Development program ‘Noordrand’, an intensive collaboration with perspective.brussels focusing on the northern canal area (Buda) and the Airport corridor.

Jan likes to work on innovative and challenging topics, combining research, design and gis in complex participatory processes.
