Nazareno Braito, Ph.D., works as Senior consultant in the team Innovation, Industry Competitiveness and Sustainability team at IDEA consultant since January 2022.

Nazareno holds a double degree Ph.D in business economics from KU Leuven and Maastricht University in 2019 after having developed a Ph.D. thesis on the heterogeneity in the location determinants of foreign direct investments for multinationals. For his research, he defined and constructed several economic indicators and employed multiple econometric techniques for the analysis of big datasets. After his Ph.D, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven campus Brussels. Here, he focused on multinationals’ mimetic behaviour for internationalisation decisions. Combining traditional regional and industrial economic theory with institutional theory, he examined multinationals location as well as entry mode choices. During the Ph.D as well as during the postdoc, Nazareno had the opportunity to teach multiple courses, both at bachelor (Statistics and Business Research Methods) and master (European Institutions and Multinationals, Innovation and Entrepreneurship) level.

Before joining IDEA, Nazareno also worked as economic consultant at Rhodium Group (Paris) and VVA (Brussels). There, he worked on multiple projects for the European Commission and the European Parliament as specialist in industrial economics and policy evaluation.
