IMPact project: Improving the measurement systems for public support of personal and household services |
![]() |
IDEA Consult took part in an IMPact project supported by the European Commission aimed at improving the measurement systems for the public support of personal and household services. The project was conducted by a European consortium led by the European Federation for Services to individuals (EFSI).
The aim of the IMPact project was to develop a joint, easy to use toolkit in order to support European member states in the measurement and monitoring of the employment and budgetary effects of public systems for personal and household services. Ultimately, the project will help simplify the decision-making process in the member states concerning the effectiveness of these systems. By developing macroeconomic tools and a concrete methodology, public authorities will better be able to assess their existing policy or to develop new policy measures with an insight into the likely effect on job creation, the required level of public investment and the transition from the informal to the formal economy.
The project was carried out by a set of countries in which measures have already been taken in the area of personal and household services (Belgium, France and Sweden) where the organisation of such activities is currently under consideration (the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Spain and Italy).
The results of the project and the toolkit developed were made public through an online publication, targeted online distribution and a pan-European conference in Brussels in 2016.
