External Evaluation Pegasus

The Pegasus programme aims to attract young excellent postdoctoral researchers, who are active abroad, to Flanders in order to contribute to the advancement of Flemish research. The aim of this study is to evaluate the Pegasus fellowship programme procedures and the achieved results.

A mix of different methods are used in order to provide an answer to the evaluations questions; desk research, online survey and in-depth interviews. The study describes in detail the characteristics of the Pegasus applicants, evaluates the Pegasus programme procedures managed by FWO (application, evaluation, feedback, contracting and reporting procedure) and evaluates the impact of the Pegasus programme on the researchers, their host research institution and research in Flanders more in general. The conclusions of this evaluation are structured along the evaluation questions. Some recommendations, as collected amongst the survey respondents, interviewees and promotors wrap up the evaluation.
